Daniel and James have passed their Eagle Scout Board of Reviews on January 19, 2011. Please congratulate them upon achieving their goal. We will be posting their Eagle Scout COURT OF HONOR soon! Lapeer Recreation Center/ Pontiac-Manito District LOCK-IN party -Sat. January 23 & 24, 2010

The Detroit Grand Prix was August 29, 2008 through August 31, 2008. The Explorers and Venturers in Crew 1833 helped staff this event. We plan on making this an annual event for our Crew.

The Explorer / Venture Open House- was at the UAW Local 160 Union Hall on Tuesday, September 30 @ 5:00 PM. Please bring your checkbook for registration fees.

Our first regular Crew meeting was October 15, 2008 @ GM Design building from 6:00-8:00 PM. Only pre-registered members will be allowed past Security. Call or email John Radke to be registered. (See Leadership & Contact page)

Our first District event was serving on Staff for the Michigami District’s “Webelos Woods” @ Huron Park in Roseville, MI on Saturday, September 20, 2008.

Community Service project - "Operation Can-Do" (Scouting for Food) was on November 8, 2008 - Our assignment  .....Big Boy's restaurant on 12 Mile and Hoover (see photos)

Congratulations to the Crew that completed the Pedro Trail hike at D-A Scout Ranch on December 6, 2008. We hiked the Pedro Trail in the cold and snow and had a great time! Patch, Medal, and Congratulations to: Joel B., Jonathan B., John R., Daniel, R., James R., Amber W., & Karl W. "Over hill, over dale, we hit the snowy trail..."

Winter Lock-In at Lapeer Recreation Center – Swimming pool, Water slide, Wallyball, Racquetball, Dodgeball, Basketball, Track, Pizza, Games, Contests, Etc., was on January 10, 2009.

Lost Lake $10,000.00 Pike Fishing ContestSaturday,  January 31, 2009. Lost Lake Scout Reservation- Lake,  Michigan

Scout Sunday was February 1, 2009. We wore our uniform to our place of worship this week to help celebrate the anniversary of Scouting. Patches are available to those who participate in the celebration. Please see the Advisor.

VLSC (Venturing Leader Skills Course) Crew training was taught at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Oxford, Michigan on February 8, 2009. Congratulations to Amber and James for completeing the course. Thank you to Karl and Daniel for leading/teaching the course.

We attended the Lincoln Pilgrimage event at D-A Scout Ranch on February 14, 2009. We served on the kitchen staff, prepared the hotdogs & soup, and served all of the Scouts lunch. We had a great time! Thanks to everyone who helped!

We held our annual FOS "Friends of Scouting"pledge drive on February 14, 2009. Thank you to those helping Scouting's fine programs. Please see Advisor if you missed the opportunity.

BSA Fishing Contest@ LLSR, Lost Lake - Claire, MI, Saturday,February 21, 2009. $10.00 entry fee.Must supply own fishing equipment. ** 

Youth Religious Retreat- was March 7-8. Congratulations to Daniel and James for fulfilling all of their requirements for the Trust Award! (see flier)

Boy Scout Memorabilia Showwas March 20 - March 21, 2009 Camp Agawam, Lake Orion Michigan. Free Admission for everyone - All Scouts in uniform received a free patch.

CPR and First Aid Training. - Was April 1st and 15th at American Legion Post 377 in Clarkston. Congratulations to Amber, Daniel, and James for earning their First Aid and CPR Certification through American Red Cross.

Crew 1833 - Court of Honor - Wednesday, June 17, 2009 @ Shield's Pizza @ 5702 East 12 Mile Road near Mound in Warren. From 6-8 PM. Full dress Venture uniform required.  Family and friends are welcome.

Detroit Grand Prix Late August 2009 - Has been cancelled

The City of Detroit cancelled the Grand Prix for 2009. We look forward to again participating in the Detroit Grand Prix in late August 2010.  Please check out the Detroit Grand Prix website for more information. See ya at the races in 2010?
